GlassWork

The mirrors found in these glassworks are a way of integrating the spectators into the artworks because the viewer is reflected, albeit in a fragmented form, in the artwork.  Every individual who looks at a piece of art becomes a part of the work of art. The end result is a reflection of reflections.

My works of art with glass follow the same technical principles as the rest of my other works of art, that is to say with the support of my previous works of art - you can describe it as an act of appropriation and or cannibalization - new works are made in a mixture of glass and old works.

Sometimes these artworks arise from a mash-up of mine and other people's images - artwork, photos, etcetera -, used in the same way I do with my decades of old artwork from the 70s to today.

My works are undeniably implanted in the ancient Japanese wisdom that holds that there is value in the old and the used as opposed to our consumerist mentality that despises the old and used in favour of the newly purchased.
